How much does a GCSE English tutor cost?
Rates depend on tutor experience and lesson frequency; you'll see exact prices for matched tutors before committing to anything. There are no sign-up fees and no long contracts.
Do you cover both English Language and English Literature?
Yes. We cover both English Language and English Literature, all exam boards. Most students work with one tutor across the two: the close reading, analysis and structured writing skills carry over, and the tutor weights lesson time towards whichever GCSE is weaker, from set texts and the poetry anthology to unseen texts and creative writing.
Which exam boards do you cover?
All major boards: AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC. The tutor teaches your child's exact specification, knows its set texts, and uses its past papers.
Is online GCSE English tuition as good as in person?
For GCSE English, online one-to-one works exceptionally well: shared documents for live essay marking, extracts annotated together on screen, no travel time, and a much wider tutor pool than any one town.
When should we start before the exams?
Earlier beats cramming: starting in the autumn term gives time to get on top of the set texts and build analysis habits before mocks (November to January), then use mock results to target the May and June papers. That said, focused essay-technique blocks in spring still move marks.
