Years 12–13 · AQA, Edexcel, OCR
A-Level maths is the biggest step up in the curriculum, and the grade that carries university offers. One-to-one tuition closes the gap between keeping up and the grade on the offer letter.

The short answer
An A-Level maths tutor works one-to-one on your exam board's exact specification (pure maths, mechanics and statistics), rebuilding any shaky GCSE foundations, working real past papers, and drilling the multi-step problem-solving A-Level papers demand. Lessons are online and scheduled around sixth form.
The step-up moments
The A-Level jump catches strong students; it's the most common story we hear.
A university offer turns every mock into a checkpoint.
Or the reverse. One-to-one lets the tutor weight lessons to the weak paper.
A focused retake plan beats repeating the year's notes.
The three components
Pure
about two thirds of the marks
Algebraic fluency, calculus, proof: the spine of the whole qualification.
Mechanics
applied paper
Forces, kinematics, moments: where physics-adjacent intuition earns marks.
Statistics
applied paper
Hypothesis testing, distributions and the large data set your board expects.
Lessons build backwards from mocks (November to January) and the May to June papers, with your board's real past papers and mark schemes from the first session.

Five-lesson promise
The risk is ours, not yours.
We know how important the right tutor match is. If it doesn't feel right, we'll find your child another tutor and you won't pay for that lesson. If you're not satisfied with their progress after five lessons, we'll refund every cent you paid for them.
The right tutor can make all the difference, not only to your child's results, but also to their confidence, understanding and ability to tackle their schoolwork independently. For you, that means the reassurance of knowing your child is supported, making progress and moving in the right direction. That's the transformation we want your child to experience, and we're prepared to stand behind it.
First, your child's tutor should feel like the right fit. If your child doesn't feel comfortable, understood and excited to continue after their lesson, simply tell us. We'll find them a better-matched tutor, and you won't pay a cent for that lesson.
Once your child has found the right match, give us five lessons to help them make meaningful progress. If, after those five lessons, you're not satisfied with the change you're seeing, let us know and we'll refund every cent you paid for them.
Our 97% customer success rate gives us the confidence to make this promise. But if your child is among the 3% who don't get the results you hoped for, we wouldn't feel right keeping your money.
No awkward conversations. No hoops to jump through. The risk is ours, not yours.
Rates depend on tutor experience and frequency; you see exact prices for matched tutors before committing. No sign-up fees, no long contracts.
Yes, all three components, weighted to where your marks say the work is. Further Maths support is available too.
AQA, Edexcel, OCR (and WJEC). The tutor teaches your specification and marks against its mark schemes.
Yes, that's the highest-leverage window: mock papers show exactly which topics and question styles are dropping marks, and lessons target those.
The GCSE-to-A-Level step is the largest in the curriculum: more algebraic fluency, multi-step problems, fewer scaffolded questions. It's normal, and it responds quickly to one-to-one attention.
